  • Station Manager for the radio component of Appalshop Inc., a Kentucky Arts center which promotes and preserves the culture of southern Appalachia. 
March 1997 - October 2000 CKCU Radio Carleton Inc.
  • Station Manager overseeing four staff and 250 volunteer programmers. 
August 1993 - January 1995 Te Deum Orchestra & Singers
  • General Manager responsible for all operations including: musician contracts; book-keeping; media relations and PR; fundraising; concert production, copywriting, programme layout, and desktop publishing. 
October 1988 - January 1992 Michael Caplan Entertainment Inc. (now Sensix Communications & Events) 
  • Production Manager (Toronto office) responsible for all aspects of Special Events production, including research, writing and budgeting proposals; sourcing suppliers; hiring and training staff; on-site co-ordination and supervision. 
  • Notable projects included a three city tour of New York, Washington, and Chicago for the Metro Toronto Convention and Visitors Association; and events in Toronto Skydome, Ontario Place; and Niagara Falls, Canada.

Founding Board Member

CSIRP was founded to support the work of radio producers in Canada. While involved as a founder and Board member coordinated workshops and newsletters, the CSIRP web site and email list, and many of CSIRP's events and workshops.

1995 Artzone (Urban Trust) Corporation

Board Member and Treasurer

Artzone was a non-profit corporation established to purchase and develop properties within the area designated for the Barton Street Artists Village in Hamilton. They planned to purchase a number of properties in the neighborhood, develop them into work and live/work space, and lease these spaces to artists and other tenants. This project was cancelled by a change in government.

May 1994 - 1997 Friends of Hamilton Wentworth Community Radio

Founding Board Member

The Friends were founded to develop and encourage non-commercial broadcasting in the Hamilton region. Their primary project is the development and establishment of a community access audio facility within downtown Hamilton. They sponsored the 1996 National Campus and Community Radio Conference. In 1998 The Friends were reborn as The Canadian Society for Independent Radio Production.

1986 Vancouver Pro Musica

Founding Board Member of a classical chamber ensemble devoted to performing the works of Canadian composers.

2001 Public Conflict Resolution and Effective Meeting Facilitation - training workshops by Ronald J. Hustedde, University of Kentucky

1997-99 National Society of Fund Raising Executives - various workshops on fundraising and donor development.

1993 Non Profit Management Workshop with facilitator Ken Wright, sponsored by Ontario Federation of Symphony Orchestras. This workshop examined staff and board relationships, and personal motivations.

1988 - 1990 Humber College of Applied Arts & Technology Film and Television Production - recipient of the Robert Bocking Productions Award for Outstanding Achievement.
