Application No. 2007-1821-5
Application by Vancouver Co-operative Radio to renew the licence of the Type B community radio programming undertaking CFRO-FM Vancouver, expiring 31 August 2008.
It appears to the Commission that the licensee may have failed to comply with the Radio Regulations, 1986 relating to the broadcast of Canadian content for category 2 music during the broadcast week of November 5 to 11, 2006.
The Commission intends to inquire into this matter at the hearing. The Commission expects the licensee to show cause at this hearing, why a mandatory order should not be issued requiring the licensee to comply with the Radio Regulations, 1986 relating to the broadcast of Canadian content for category 2 music during the broadcast week.
The Commission notes that in Decision CRTC 2004-341, the licensee was issued a four-year short term renewal based on its failure to comply with the Radio Regulations, 1986 concerning the provision of complete logger tapes.
