Cool Edit & Adobe Audition MP2 Filter These files were provided to us by Jeff Reynolds. As always, check the readme.txt & copying.txt files. These files are Public Domain and originated with Rich Rarey at NPR. They allow either program to save as an MP2 file. The coolmp32.exe file was an old add-on to CoolEdit96, a very early version of CoolEdit. Syntrillium stopped supporting it long ago, but it still seems to work for me... Followup comment from Mark in 07/04: "I had installed and tried this flt with Adobe Audition and it would open the MP2s on the sites we use but it had glitches in the audio. Someone suggested using the "Extract Audio From
Video" function in Now I will leave this installed as it will give us the
ability to create Download either coolmp32.exe (113k) or coolmp32.zip (101k). Either of the exe or zip files contain 5 files: copying.txt, readme.txt, mpe.flt, mpg.flt, and mpeg.dat. Extract the files, and copy mpe.flt, mpg.flt, and mpeg.dat to the CoolEdit and/or Audition home directories, where the main program lives. On my machine, those programs are in the folders "c:\program files\coolpro2" and "c:\program files\adobe\audition 1.0" I also keep copies of the MP2 files in a separate folder, in case I need to re-install CoolEdit or Audition in the future. The I can re-install the MP2 filters also. That's it! If problems crop up when running the programs, just move those files back out of the home folder. Resource: Adobe Audition homepage. Add the wma filter to the CoolEdit program
folder. Windows
