Successful Grantwriting
This very popular workshop is geared towards individuals who are new to grant writing, either for individual projects, or for small non-profit organizations. The day will include both lectures and hands on group activities. At the end of the workshop participants will have enough knowledge to complete a typical funding application such as the Ontario Trillium Foundation application. A workbook is included.
Media Relations 101
This workshop is geared towards individuals or small non-profit organizations. Our approach is to develop knowledge and skills which are appropriate for projects that would like to build a profile with their local media outlets, but which lack the resources to hire a full or part time media relations person.
How to Start a Non-profit Group
This workshop is geared towards individuals or groups who are interested in establishing a non-profit corporation. It is primarily intended to provide an overview of the process of getting a new group off the ground successfully. Although we will touch on legal issues, this is not primarily a discussion of non-profit or charitable law.
Internet for Non-Profits
Every non-profit group needs a web site, and every group needs e-mail, but what about other Internet tools? Blogs are the fastest growing media sector, with thousands of new blogs appearing daily. Discussion Boards can allow groups of people to chat and exchange knowledge. And what about RSS and podcasts?
This workshop is geared towards individuals or groups who would like to explore current Internet tools as a way to create simple but dynamic web presence for their organization or business, or that can make their web site more useful for members and clients It is a beginner level workshop. Buzzwords and tech talk will be translated to English.
